An exceptional 1930's Eberhard & Co 18K gold, monopusher chronograph. An enamel dial with multiple scales and subsidiary dials. An outer Telemetre scale in a contrasting red finish surrounds the minute track, segmented with 5 minute markers. An inner snail 'pulsations' or 'chronoscape' scale. A 30 minute chronograph counter to 3 o'clock, opposite a constant subsidiary seconds dial to 9 o'clock. Blued steel 'moon' hands indicate the hours and minutes, with stylised Arabic numerals. Signed 'Swiss made' to the bottom.
An oversized 18K gold case with hinged openings to the front and back. The case has fixed lugs, utilising a fold over strap. The body of the case is in excellent condition, with very few minor imperfections and retains its 'old gold' colouration, having been left untouched for a number of years. The inner case back is stamped 18K with a Swiss hammer poincon, as well as E&C. Inner case number 194660.
The watch is powered Eberhard 16000, based on the Valjoux 65. As one of the pioneers of early chronograph wristwatches, this was a base caliber they used in multiple wristwatches during this period. Circa 1930.
