A good quality Victorian double fusee bracket clock by Wright of London. Choice rosewood veneers of good colour to the well proportioned case. Carved detailing to the pediment and below the dial. Side sound fretwork with silk backing. The original wooden bun feet. A twin fusee, 8-day mechanism striking the hours on a bell with the original pendulum transportation lock. A painted dial with blued steel hands signed 'Wright London' with a cast brass bezel surround. Circa 1845.
There are a few clockmakers with the name 'Wright' recorded in Loomes' ' Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World' book as working in the 18th and 19th centuries. This example dates to circa 1845.
