A Georgian period mercury wheel barometer. A mahogany case with an architectural pediment and original brass central finial. Marquetry and parquetry shell inlays to the case. A long engraved silvered dial.with an engraved arch. The main dial is engraved 'W SQUIRRELL, BILDESTON (Suffolk)'. Circa 1820.
William Squirrell of Bideston is recorded in Banfields' 'Barometer Makers and Retailers' book as working from 1810 - 1830.
