An English double fusee bracket/table clock by this noted family of clockmakers. A rosewood case with choice veneers and an architectural pediment. Stepped base mouldings and standing on brass ogee feet. A very well fretted back door with silk sound backing. A painted dial with 'moon' blued steel hands signed 'Webster, Cornhill London'. A twin fusee mechanism striking the hours on a bell. The original transportation locking nut and winding crank key.
The Webster family of clockmakers worked for nearly 200 years in London and moved to premises in Cornhill in 1813. This example dates to circa 1835.
