A Georgian Regency bracket clock of small proportions. Choice flame mahogany veneers of lovely colour with brass inlay. A pineapple top finial to the chamfered pediment. Ebonised mouldings and side handles to the slim case. Brass ball feet. A glass back door to the 8-day duration non striking timepiece fusee mechanism. A cast brass bezel and convex glass to the convex painted dial with blued steel hands. The dial is signed 'Tennant, London'. Circa 1820.
There are a few Tennants of London recorded in Baillies and Loomes' ' Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World' book as working in the 18th and 19th century. This example dates to circa 1820.
