An English late Victorian twin fusee bracket clock. A mahogany case of Georgian design with a recessed front panel with brass inlays. Brass sound fretted side panels with silk backing. A cast brass bezel with convex glass and standing on brass bun feet. A brass fret back door. A convex dial with blued steel 'moon' hands. A quality double fusee mechanism striking the hours on a gong of 8-day duration. The original pendulum transportation lock and winding key. Circa 1890
William Palmer of Bristol is recorded in A J Moores' 'The Clockmakers of Bristol' book as working in All Saints Lane from 1856-1896.
