Harper of London Satinwood Fusee Bracket/Table Clock

 A Georgian Regency period bracket clock by John Harper of London. A rarer satinwood case of good colour to the well proportioned, elegant balloon case. A round top with chequered banding to the case edging. Ebonised banding to the case front and back edging. A high quality 8-day single fusee, 5-pillar mechanism with circular plates. Brass ogee bracket feet. A convex painted dial with 'moon' blued steel hands signed 'Jno Harper London' with a cast brass bezel surround and convex glass. Circa 1815.

Two John Harpers of London are recorded in Baillies' ' Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World' book as working from 1802-1824 (Goswell St) and 1817-1824 (St. John St).
