Kembery Antique Clocks
The established specialists
A small proportioned, French striking carriage clock. An enamel dial with Roman numerals and blued steel 'moon' hands. Concave and convex case mouldings to the 'gorge' case. A decorative handle to the top. There is remnants of the old gilding to parts of the case. The mechanism is engraved to the backplate 'BRIGHT PARIS'. Gorge cased clocks are earlier examples and the cases are made to a higher standard and detail. Circa 1860.
An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours and 1/2 hours on a gong. The original escapement visible through the large top glass.
