A 1950's railways dial wall clock. A smaller, 8" painted dial signed 'BR(M) 3541, SMITHS EMPIRE' with blued steel hands. A walnut case with a brass bezel surround. An 8-day duration Smiths timepiece mechanism. Circa 1950.
Smiths supplied the railways with 'station' clocks. This example is from British Railways Midlands region. There are indistinct 24 hour markers on the inside edge of the dial as often seen on railway use examples.
