A 1974 Blandford Sub Aqua Ocean Diver 1000m wristwatch. A gloss black dial with extended white minute markers. Lume squares at each 5 minute marker, with contrasting chevron markers to the quarters. A date aperture to 3 o'clock. Large variants of 'pencil' hands, with a 'lollipop' sweep seconds hand. The dial is surrounded by an orange/black uni-directional rotating bezel.
This watch is housed in a 'Squale Master' case, translated to English as 'Shark Master'. These cases were widely used for divers watches during the 1970s and are of renowned design and quality. The case has a 'big block' design, with sloped lugs and a screw down case back. The depth ratinng is specified as 100 ATM (atmospheres), 1000m. The case is made of solid stainless steel and has the original winding crown. The watch has its original glass - which shows some signs of wear due to the nature of use.
The watch is powered by a 17 jewel automatic mechanism, based on the Felsa 4007N. This watch comes with correspondence from the original owner, stating that it was purchased c1974 and went on to be used on dives for many years.
