A fine quality Georgian bracket clock by Samuel Honeychurch of London. Choice flame mahogany veneers to the impressive and well proportioned case. A brass handle and acorn side finials to the classic bell top case. Front cast spandrels and side fretted circular sound panels. Glass side panels and the case standing on the original feet. Pull cord side repeating and the original period crank winding key. An arched brass and silvered dial with recessed cartouche panel signed 'Sam Honeychurch, London'. Blued steel hands and a strike/silent arch to the top. Silvered chapter ring and fine gilt corner spandrels. A twin fusee mechanism striking the hours on a bell. A very well engraved backplate, side case mounts and pendulum. Circa 1770.

Samuel Honeychurch of Cheapside, London is recorded in Britten's 'Old Clocks and watches and their Makers' book as working in 1770 and a longcase clock noted.
