 A Georgian period Gloucestershire longcase clock. A slim oak case with a swan neck hood pediment and brass patterae.. An original brass finial and Corinthian capped brass hood column capitals.  A well proportioned slim case standing on the original feet with a raised plinth panel. A very attractive arched painted dial with floral corners and a seconds dials with blued steel hands. A rarer 'See-Saw' moving automaton to the arch scene. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell. Circa 1795.


The Warner family of clockmakers are recorded in Dowlers 'Gloucestershire Clockmakers and Watchmakers' book. John (father) was born in 1647 and the family continued until the 1800's. They made lantern clocks and also local church clocks and worked in Chipping Campden and Evesham. This example dates to circa 1795.
