 A Georgian period Yorkshire mercury stick barometer. A mahogany case with crossbanded edging and the original convex base cover. A glass front wooden framed opening door. The original paper scales in good condition with four country and sea scape scenes to the corner signed 'Jn Illingworth Fecit Halifax'.

John Illingworth of Halifax is recorded in Banfield's 'Barometer Makers and Retailers' book as working 1790-1810.
