 A quality earlier example of a French carriage clock. An enamel dial with 'moon' blued steel hands. The original lever escapement. A brass back door with shutter winding hole covers. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours and 1/2 hours on a gong. Signed to the backplate 'G.V.' and numbered 3611. Circa 1865.
