A French gilded cased striking & repeating carriage clock. A good quality case with corinthian capped fluted front and rear columns. A stepped base panel and fluted handle centre. The original case gilding. An ivory coloured enamel dial with blued steel hands and black Roman numerals. An indistinct retailers name to the dial. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours and 1/2 hours on a gong. Numbered 5644. A lever escapement. Circa 1895.
