1918 OMEGA 'NIELLO' CASED POCKET WATCH

A rare 1918 Omega pocket watch in a high quality Niello silver case. An enamel dial with Arabic numerals and red 24 hour outer numerals. A subsidiary seconds dial to 6 o'clock. A very well decorated case in a typical Art Deco style. The process of making a Niello pattern involves heat firing a composition of materials onto a metal case and was a very time consuming and expensive process. These styles of cases were primarily created by Swiss case makers, including Huegenin and Duchine. An Omega caliber 18 LPB mechanism. Serial numbers date this watch to c1918.

A fine quality silver pocket watch by Daniel Desbois of London. A silver case in full hunter style, showing Birmingham hallmarks for 1896. An enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial. A good quality 3/4 plate mechanism with lever escapement. mechanism signed by maker Daniel Desbois, London and numbered 2032.

Daniel Desbois and Sons were makers and retailers of fine quality clocks and watches throughout the 19th century. This watch would have been retailed at their 79 High Holborn address.

WW2 PERIOD AMERICAN NAVY/AIR FORCE CHRONOMETER POCKET WATCH

An American 4992B Hamilton Chronometer navigators watch. The original box by Pilliod cabinet co. marked 'BU Aero US Navy' with contract numbers. A 24 hour dial with GCT mark and sweep seconds with quality 'hack' stop feature for accurate settings. A fine quality 22 Jewel Hamilton chronometer grade mechanism maked US Govt. Serial number of 402533 dates it to 1940.

The rear engraved serial and contract numbers are for the US navy and then above and below are later US Air Force engraved numbers so interestingly used for both. This is a great piece of American military history, some are seen on there own and this is a great find with the original navigational box.
